I just got this in my e-mail:
Dear Valued Customer,
At M&T Bank, your privacy is very important to us. We were recently notified by Epsilon, an email marketing service provider, that an unauthorized third party gained access to customer email addresses of a number of companies, including those of M&T Bank. We want to assure you that no account or other personal information was obtained as we do not share this information with Epsilon.
You should continue to be on the alert for unsolicited (“spam”) emails requesting personal or sensitive information. Please understand that M&T Bank will not send you emails requesting your credit card number, social security number or other personal information.
We regret this incident has occurred and apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused you. At M&T Bank, we take safeguarding your privacy very seriously and we will continue to work diligently to protect your personal information. If you receive a suspicious email, please forward it, as an attachment, to us at phishing@mtb.com.
